Member Code of Conduct

Read This First

Membership comes with responsibility. These rules are direct because the space depends on trust, discretion, and consent.

1. Consent is mandatory. Ask first. Consent must be clear, informed, enthusiastic, and ongoing.
2. Zero touching without permission. Zero social touch. Zero sensual touch. Zero sexual touch.
3. Respect boundaries immediately. Stop when asked. Zero arguing, negotiating, pressuring, or punishing someone for just saying no.
4. Protect privacy. Do not out, identify, photograph, record, stream, or expose anyone.
5. Recording devices are forbidden. Meta glasses, smart glasses, camera glasses, wearable cameras, AI recording devices, and similar technology are not permitted on the premises.
6. No harassment or discrimination. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, body shaming, stalking, intimidation, and harassment are prohibited.
7. Play responsibly. Negotiate clearly, use safer-sex and hygiene practices, clean up after yourself, and follow staff direction.
8. Staff decisions are final. Violations can result in removal, suspension, or revoked membership without refund.

About This Policy

The Shop Social Lounge is a private adult social lounge for people exploring ethical non-monogamy, kink, sexuality, alternative relationship structures, and those wanting to spice up their partnered relationships. The Shop goal is to maintain a space that is safer, inclusive, discreet, and consent-forward.

While it is impossible to remove all risk, these rules exist to reduce harm, set clear expectations, and give staff a framework for action when something goes wrong.

Consent Policy

• Zero touch without permission. Do not touch anyone socially, sensually, sexually, or as part of a scene without clear permission.
• Ask once. If someone says no, hesitates, avoids answering, looks uncomfortable, or does not clearly say yes, treat it as a no.
• Pressure voids consent. Consent given because of guilt, pressure, persistence, manipulation, intoxication, fear, or social obligation is not valid consent.
• Consent must be specific. Saying yes to one activity does not mean yes to another. Saying yes once does not mean yes later.
• Consent can be withdrawn at any time. When someone says stop, all activity stops immediately.
• Safe words and signals must be honored. RED, SAFEWORD, or any agreed stop signal ends the activity immediately.
• No mid-scene escalation. Do not add new activities, people, tools, intensity, or risks during a scene unless they were clearly negotiated before the scene began.
• Altered states matter. Subspace, intoxication, fear, shock, or emotional overwhelm can affect someone’s ability to consent. When in doubt, stop.
• Do not join scenes uninvited. Watching is not an invitation. Participation requires permission from every person involved.
• Staff must be notified before non-consensual-looking play. If a scene could reasonably appear unsafe, coercive, forced, or non-consensual to others, speak with staff before beginning.

Privacy, Recording & Wearable Device Policy

Privacy is not optional at The Shop. Members and guests must be able to attend without fear of being photographed, recorded, identified, streamed, scanned, exposed, or outed.

Meta glasses, camera glasses, smart glasses, AI-enabled recording devices, wearable cameras, body cameras, covert recording devices, and similar technology are forbidden anywhere on The Shop premises.

This includes devices capable of photography, video recording, audio recording, live streaming, facial recognition, environmental scanning, AI-assisted capture, or similar functions, whether or not the device is actively being used.

• These devices may not be worn, carried, powered on, or stored on your person while inside The Shop.
• Turning the device off is not enough. The device must remain outside the premises.
• Prescription eyewear with recording, camera, smart, or AI-enabled features is still prohibited. Members and guests must use non-recording eyewear while on site.
• Photography, video recording, audio recording, live streaming, and unauthorized image capture are prohibited unless The Shop gives explicit permission for a specific approved purpose.
• Do not share member names, faces, profiles, attendance, identifying details, or private information outside the club without explicit consent.
• Any attempt to secretly record, photograph, stream, identify, expose, or document another member or guest is a serious consent and privacy violation.
• Anyone found with a prohibited device may be denied entry, removed from the premises, suspended, or have their membership revoked without refund.

Inclusion & Anti-Harassment

• Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, body shaming, harassment, stalking, intimidation, and threatening behavior are prohibited.
• Use people’s stated names and pronouns. If you are unsure, ask respectfully.
• Do not pressure, shame, mock, insult, touch, follow, corner, expose, or intentionally embarrass another member or guest.
• Harassment is prohibited both on-site and within Shop-related online spaces.
• Race play is forbidden. Read the full Race Play Policy.

Play, Equipment & Space Use

• Negotiate clearly before play. Discuss limits, risks, safer-sex practices, hygiene, tools, roles, and aftercare needs.
• You are encouraged to use barriers and safer-sex practices appropriate to the activity and people involved.
• Share relevant health or safety information before play when it could affect another person’s informed consent.
• Use equipment responsibly and within your skill level. Do not use equipment you do not understand.
• Clean and reset equipment after use. Report damage, mess, or safety concerns to staff.
• Follow posted room guidelines, equipment rules, and staff direction.
• Do not block walkways, exits, stairs, doors, staff access, or emergency routes.

Substance Policy

• Illegal drugs are not permitted on the premises.
• BYOB alcohol is permitted at designated events unless otherwise stated.
• Drink responsibly. Intoxication equals zero consent.
• If someone appears intoxicated, impaired, unsafe, or unable to consent, play is not permitted.
• Staff may remove anyone who appears impaired, unsafe, disruptive, or unable to follow the rules.

Reporting an Issue

If something happens, tell staff. Reports are handled as privately as possible. First-person reports give us the clearest ability to respond, but we also accept third-party or anonymous concerns when needed.

• During an event: Speak to any staff member. They will connect you with a Safer Space Monitor (green shirts), any Shop staff. NOTE: A staff member is always present at the beverage counter and door check-in.
• Outside an event: Email hello@bodyshoppittsburgh.com with the subject line “Consent Report.” You may also CC consent@bodyshoppittsburgh.com.

Include what you can:

• Your name, pronouns, and how to reach you.
• What happened and when.
• Who was involved.
• What was discussed or negotiated beforehand.
• Whether any safe words, limits, or boundaries were ignored.
• Who witnessed the incident.
• Screenshots, messages, photos, or other documentation, if applicable.
• What you would like to happen next.

Review Process

• A Safer Space Advocate, manager, owner, or appropriate staff lead may review the concern.
• The reporter, the person reported, and relevant witnesses may be contacted separately.
• The Shop does not require forced mediation, confrontation, or direct contact between parties.
• Anyone involved may be asked to pause attendance while a concern is reviewed.
• Information is shared only with those who need it to respond, review, or enforce policy.

Outcomes & Accountability

The Shop reserves the right to act based on the nature of the concern, available information, risk to the community, and whether the person involved can safely remain in the space.

• Correction or warning: For lower-level, first-time, or unintentional boundary issues when staff believes correction is appropriate.
• Pause of play or removal from event: When immediate intervention is needed.
• Attendance restrictions: Temporary or partial limits on access.
• Suspension: Temporary loss of access while a concern is reviewed or conditions are met.
• Membership revocation or ban: Permanent removal when someone is unsafe, repeatedly violates policy, or is incompatible with the space.
• Staff or volunteer removal: Staff, volunteers, DMs, or representatives may be removed from duty immediately pending review.

Membership Agreement

By activating, renewing, purchasing, or using a membership, buying an event ticket, entering The Shop, or participating in a Shop event or member space, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to this Member Code of Conduct, Consent Policy, and House Rules.
