Member Code of Conduct + Consent Policy

Safer. Inclusive. Consent-forward.

In collaboration with NCSF and SaferSex.com best practices.

TL;DR - Code of Conduct

Membership means you agree to the rules below. They’re simple, direct, and enforced.

  1. Consent is mandatory. Ask first. Consent must be enthusiastic, informed, and ongoing. Silence or hesitation = no.
  2. Respect boundaries. Stop immediately if asked. Use/obey safe words and signals.
  3. Zero harassment/discrimination. No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, or body shaming.
  4. Privacy. What happens at The Shop stays here. No photos/videos without explicit permission from everyone.
  5. Play responsibly. Negotiate scenes. Clean/reset equipment. Follow DM/staff directions without debate.
  6. Substances. No illegal drugs. Alcohol responsibly. Impairment is not consent; you may be removed.
  7. Accountability. Staff decisions are final. Violations can mean warnings, suspension, or permanent removal without refund.
Bottom line: Respect consent, respect people, respect the space.

Full Consent & Conduct Policy (Details)

The Shop is a private social lounge for adults exploring ethical non-monogamy, kink, and other alternative relationship expressions. The top priority is a space that is safer, inclusive, and respectful. These policies reduce, but cannot eliminate risk. By entering The Shop, you agree to follow them and respect others’ boundaries.

Consent Policy
  • ZERO Touch Without Permission: Do not touch anyone socially, sensually, or sexually without clear permission. Past behavior or observation of others does not equal consent.
  • Ask Once Policy: Consent given under pressure, guilt, or manipulation is invalid. Only ask once.
  • Explicit Consent Required: Activities must be agreed upon verbally or in writing. Non-verbal gestures, assumptions, or “vibes” are not enough.
  • Informed Consent: Before play, discuss risks, limits, and safety measures. Use proper training, techniques, and equipment for kink activities.
  • Impairment: If someone appears intoxicated or otherwise impaired, play is forbidden. Impairment does not excuse violations.
  • Scene Integrity: No mid-scene re-negotiations except to remove activities. Altered states (e.g., subspace, intoxication) void consent.
  • Safe Words: RED or the agreed SAFEWORD stops all activity immediately. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
  • Scene Participation: Do not join a scene unless invited by all participants.
  • Non-Consensual-Looking Play: Inform staff before any scene that may appear non-consensual to onlookers.
  • No Extreme Harm: Even with consent, activities that cause serious injury or exceed agreed expectations are not allowed.
  • Privacy & Discretion: Do not out anyone or share personal information/photos without explicit permission.
  • Ceasing Contact: If someone asks you not to contact them, respect that immediately. Staff must be able to reach you for club business.
Inclusion & Anti-Harassment
  • Zero Harassment, period. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, and body shaming are prohibited.
  • Use people’s stated names and pronouns. If unsure, ask politely.
  • Harassment, stalking, or intimidation is not tolerated online or on-site.
  • Race play is forbidden. See here for more information. Race Play Policy
Privacy & Recording
  • What happens at The Shop stays at The Shop.
  • No photos/videos/recordings without explicit permission from everyone in frame and staff where required.
  • Don’t share member identities or details outside the club without consent.
Play, Equipment & Space
  • Negotiate clearly; know limits and health needs.
  • Use barriers and hygiene best practices, and share potential health risks.
  • Clean up and reset equipment after use; report issues to staff.
  • Follow posted room guidelines and equipment rules.
  • Don’t block paths or exits; respect capacity limits.
Substance Policy
  • No illegal drugs on premises.
  • BYO Alcohol is permitted, intoxication is not.
  • Staff may remove anyone impaired or unsafe to self/others.
Reporting an Issue

We prioritize first-person reports. Anonymous or third-party reports may limit our ability to act.

Include as many of the following as you can:

  • Your name, pronouns, and how to reach you
  • What happened and when
  • What was discussed beforehand
  • Whether any safe words were ignored
  • Who witnessed the incident
  • Screenshots, messages, photos (if applicable)
  • What you’d like to happen next
Investigation Process
  • A neutral Consent Advocate (or equivalent) is assigned.
  • Only the reporter, the person reported, and relevant witnesses are interviewed.
  • No forced mediations or confrontations.
  • Anyone may be asked to pause attendance while an issue is under review.
Outcomes & Accountability
  • Warning - for unintentional/first-time boundary violations.
  • Attendance Restrictions - temporary or partial access limits.
  • Ban - permanent removal if someone is unsafe or incompatible with club values.
  • Volunteers/Staff - may be removed from duty immediately pending review.
Violations may result in a warning, pause of play, removal from the event, suspension, or permanent loss of membership. Staff/DM decisions are final.

By activating or renewing your membership, you acknowledge you’ve read, understand, and agree to this Code of Conduct and Consent Policy.
