Stalking, Cyberbullying, Harassment and Doxing

The Body Shop has a priority to create a safer, more inclusive space for the Poly/ENM, Kink, and LGBTQ+ communities. Inclusivness that helps foster long lasting relationships both in and outside of the club. While things like the newsfeed, and  direct messaging, have been shown to help create the better community we strive for, there are important points to keep in mind.

Cyberbullying refers to the use of electronic communication, such as our website, other social media, email, or instant messaging, to harass, intimidate, or harm someone else. It can take many different forms, including the following:
  • Sending threatening or harassing messages.
  • Posting or sharing harmful or embarrassing photos or videos.
  • Spreading rumors or false information, or "gossiping".
  • Using derogatory or offensive language or slurs.
  • Engaging in trolling or online baiting.
  • Posting negative comments on someone's social media profiles.
  • Stalking or harassing someone online, for example, by repeatedly sending unwanted messages or comments.
  • Gossiping refers to the act of discussing someone in a negative way without their knowledge or consent.

Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Code, Section 2709.1 - "Stalking"

  1. engages in a course of conduct or repeatedly commits acts toward another person, including following the person without proper authority, under circumstances which demonstrate either an intent to place such other person in reasonable fear of bodily injury or to cause substantial emotional distress to such other person; or
  2. engages in a course of conduct or repeatedly communicates to another person under circumstances which demonstrate or communicate either an intent to place such other person in reasonable fear of bodily injury or to cause substantial emotional distress to such other person.

  1. a person commits the offense of unlawful dissemination of intimate image if, with intent to harass, annoy or alarm a current or former sexual or intimate partner, the person disseminates a visual depiction of the current or former sexual or intimate partner in a state of nudity or engaged in sexual conduct.

These unlawful actions can have serious consequences, including damage to someone's reputation, loss of employment, and emotional harm. Therefore, the club has a zero tolerance policy any of these actions. This means that members who engage in any of these behaviors towards other members either in-person or through electronic means, can result in suspension of a membership or a permanant revocation.

The goal is to provide a place for members to feel comfortable expressing themselves and connecting with other members who also share that commitment
